Executive Team
Our executive team has deep software development, marketing, community, and finance experience in the consumer and wireless space.
CEO: Dr. Michael Robinson is an experienced internet community executive with over fifteen years building companies, managing people, and launching new products. Prior to co-founding IceBreaker, Michael served in Corporate Development and Strategy at Microsoft, ran the Wireless product unit for the Windows group, and was named Entrepreneur in Residence. Prior to Microsoft, Michael was a manager with McKinsey & Co. in the Chicago, Chinese and South East Asia offices before co-founding renren Media, a publicly traded internet company and pioneer in the Chinese community space.
CTO: Eric Hennings is a software development, architecture and user experience design expert and the co-founder of IceBreaker. A nine year Microsoft veteran, he was chosen to be Microsoft's first Entrepreneur in Residence. Eric has helped create many new Microsoft products including Internet Explorer, MSN Money, Microsoft Appointment Manager, Microsoft CRM and a new, not-yet-released Office application. Prior to Microsoft, Eric ran a technology consulting and development company specializing in cross-platform development for the Apple, Windows and Unix platforms.
CFO: David Laub has over twenty five years experience managing international and finance operations. He spent fourteen years with the international accounting firm, Arthur Andersen. David was recruited as President of the US operations and CFO worldwide for an international fishing company with operations in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa. David also launched his own international fishing company and consulted with CFO Selections, helping high tech and telecommunications companies manage their international finance operations.
VP, Business Development: Tyler Davidson has more than a decade of wireless industry and international development experience. Tyler was an early member of Clearwire's International team, where he led business development for some of the company's first European markets. Previously, Tyler served in senior business/corporate development, marketing, and consulting roles at AT&T Wireless, XO Communications, Sprint Nextel, Teledesic, and Ernst & Young.
VP, Marketing: Josh Levine has thirteen years experience in consumer marketing and business development and an MBA in Marketing. A five year Microsoft veteran, Josh worked in business development for Microsoft.com, ran the Windows Vista web team for the Windows Product Marketing Group, and built training programs for marketers at Microsoft in conjunction with the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Josh also worked in business development for Disney and has experience launching new products for small and mid-size companies.
General Manager, Beijing Office: Stephen Yik leads our China office and has overall responsibility for Technical Design and Product Development. He has a deep background in object oriented system design and agile development and previously worked with Michael at renren. At renren he established the Beijing technical division and was responsible for launching the technical team there.
