Jake Seid, Managing Director, Lightspeed Venture Partners
Jake has over six years of venture capital experience and has worked on more than 15 completed investments at Lightspeed across mobile (Rhythm New Media), Internet (Kosmix, TheFind, StyleHive), systems (Identity Engines), software (Personeta, Skybox) and components (Unity). Jake also co-leads Lightspeed's India initiative and the firm's involvement in the Lightspeed-Gemini Internet Lab. Prior to Lightspeed, Jake was a product line manager for Cisco Systems. He was responsible for launching and managing the industry's first DOCSIS-based cable modems and routers and led his product to win "Best of Show" and "Best Networking Hardware" at Comdex'99. Previously, he worked in business development for Boston Technology (Comverse) in Tokyo.
Jake serves on the Board of the MIT-Stanford Venture Lab. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. At MIT, he earned the Karl Taylor Compton Prize, the highest honor given to an MIT student.
Peter Zaballos, Vice President, Frazier Technology Ventures
Peter led FTV's investment in Icebreaker where he serves on the board, as well as serves as a board observer at Control4 and Wetpaint where he works closely with both firms on product and marketing strategy.
Prior to joining FTV, Peter served as Senior Director of Marketing at RealNetworks, a $200M Seattle-based company that pioneered the delivery of digital audio and video over the Internet. During his tenure, Peter developed the product marketing strategy and go-to-market plans for four major RealSystem software platforms resulting in greater than 50% year-over-year revenue growth and industry leadership. Peter also developed the marketing strategy for RealNetworks Mobile Multimedia Platform, coordinating the involvement Nokia and Texas Instruments. While at RealNetworks Peter served as the company's Representative on the Advisory Committee of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) from 1998 to 1999.
Prior to RealNetworks, Peter was Vice President of Marketing at Vivo Software, Inc a pioneer and leader of streaming video technology, and managed all aspects of the company's marketing including strategic partnerships with Microsoft and RealNetworks until its sale to RealNetworks in 1998. Before Vivo, Peter held key executive and management roles in sales and marketing spanning more than ten years at FTP Software, C-Cube Microsystems, and LSI Logic.
Peter holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) from the University of California, Berkeley, and a MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
